A note on these photographs The horses in these three pictures are not identified. Nothing in the stud's recovered material records which horse stood for which photograph, and none of it has been guessed at. Each caption describes only what is visible in the frame. No photograph of any individual horse survived — which is why the stallion, mare, progeny and sales pages carry name plates rather than portraits. Photographs from the stud's own cameras will be added here as they reach us.
